 the weather has turned wet as we leave south Bohemia for Moravia... |
 ...but we like this kind of atmosphere |
 after a few hours' drive, we reach Kuklík, where Jay's great-grandmother Karolína Chvála was born |

 on the main road, it doesn't take long to pass thru town... |
 ...and then double back |
 off the main road, the village gets interesting; here's a house where Kuklík #32 used to stand |

 nearby, a creek wanders through the village |

 continuing on, we reach the area where Kuklík #53 would have been... |
 ...and another Chvála residence |

 then further out, somewhere here would have stood Kuklík #71, an earlier Chvála home |
 these roads connect Kuklík to some tiny villages... |
 ...as well as to a variety of woodlands |
 here's one of the local industries: lumber |
 now we're in Sněžné, the parish center for Kuklík |
 here's the Catholic church, recently repaired after damage during Communist times |

 a kind construction worker has offered to help us get info about Kuklík... |
 ...and he locates someone who will ask her grandmother next week about Kuklík history |
 then we drive to the cemetery nearby... |
 ...and look for names |
 plenty of Sláma families here... |
 ...even from Kuklík... |
 ...but we can't know yet if any are related |
 then we're off to Lísek, an earlier (possible) family town |
 it's in a nice setting on grassy hills |
 this was a parish center... |
 ...so served a number of nearby villages... |
 ...and has the parish cemetery (no family names here) |
 then we head off thru Bohuňov... |
 ...and on to Janovičky... |
 ...another possible family-related village |

 then it's time to head south for the night |
 we bid this part of Moravia farewell... |
 ...but plan to return after more research |
