Robert Lymbery immigrated from Ireland, probably in 1798. His great-great-great-grandfather Gregory Lymbery was English and fought in Oliver Cromwell's army. In lieu of pay, in 1653, he was given Kilcop House and lands near Waterford in Ireland, confiscated from its Catholic owner. The estate was sold in 1820.
