Like the enormity of her force to flow upward, like her meandering style as she gets further away from the ocean, like her briny tides that bathe the shoreline and the shad and sturgeon that have returned to her, the Hudson continues to be the tender thread in the fabric of my own course. Neither she nor I have any one set destination; I believe that we simply do whatever it is we do, bringing what we can to those who share our lives.
