I will return on a regular basis.
Kind regards.

I can't tell you how much good your generous compliments did for me. Coming from someone with your passion and talent. I think one of the things that attracts me to your photography, is that it has "life experience" as a key ingredient. It is not forced, but very relaxed in it's nature.
I'll be back for inspiration:-)) KEEP SHOOTING!

Jeanne I sometimes use the Nikon Diffuser but most times I will use 2 or 3 sheets of the old kleenex. This was a trick my late father had done for years. It always worked for him. I would like to try some of the diffusers you are using I will have to look him up.

Hallo Jeanne,

I just have seen your pictures with the new D-200. However I had bad experiences with my D-100, I have taken the risk to order the D-200, especially for pictures of sports. Do you think I've made the right choice. (pbase user Frans Fransen Belgium).

I'm sure you make a most wonderful teacher and your students are inspired in your setting. I wish I was taking a photography class like the one you offer. I often try to challenge myself with my photography, but it is quite a bit more interesting and demanding when it comes from another source.
I was asked to shoot a fundraiser event this weekend at the local non profit arts center. They are holding a collector's gala and acution and they want me to photograph the guests in candid shots (this will be held inside in different studio settings). I will be there for FOUR hours! ANy words of advice for me for shooting in such a way? (lighting, how to blend into the background, etc..??) thanks!!

You are not just a good photographer. Most of all you have a great aesthetic and great sense of art. For me photography is more interesting if it is unconventional and full of imagination and good aesthetic. I think these are your characteristics of your work which inspires me so much. Jeanne,
Thanks for the nice comment on the church photo.
I have had time for a just a short peek at your work and will return very soon to take some time to let your stuff sink in; what I have seen so far is terif.
I like your Hudson River stuff; the light up there is wonderful and it's no accident that a whole school of painting evolved there.
So, best from New Jersey and keep on keeping on.

I hope all is well on such a brutal day! I had been on the road most of the day & finally came back to find your great comments on my work. Thank you! Because from you it means something. My wife, Diane, had also been going through your galleries today and was also very impressed. Also also agrees that you really have a wonderful sense of color & your work in Nyack is so good makes it appear that it's not the same town! However, I do have a technical question. Despite the snow, Diane was on a mission to try to have some of these photos printed. She tried a local photo shop & a CVS of course there were worlds of difference between the quality of the two places and of course you will lose most of the frame in a 4 x 6 print. However, she saved the pics from the same file that I used to upload to pbase & the pics are scaled down for ease of loading for the site. But when she tried to do an 8x12 the printers at both places said the files were not big enough to give good quality. Now I am afraid that after all of the work on these galleries I may have completely screwed things up as the finished is all in the small format for pbase! I would call up photoshop, but I am using a bootleg version of CS and know that I would never get tech support to help me. So my questions are:
1. Can now I resize the smaller format pics in photoshop to get good enlargements or is the quality lost forever?
2. When you adjust your own work, do you do it in full format & then create a new, separate smaller version for pbase?
3. Do you use your own printer or send the work out for printing?

If I lost the cemetery stuff I'm gping to shoot myself! There are two pics in that gallery (#'s 1 & 2) of the lady praying & the bronze woman going through the door that are my favorites. The bronze woman alone was a good 10 layers to get that effect & this is making me crazy!

Guest 07-Mar-2005 04:34
Thank you for your kind comments about my work. It means a lot coming from you as you are very good & I especially like your sense of color. I'm new to pbase so I don't know if you received my reply to your last comment. Hence, I'm writing to your guestbook. It's the end of the day for me 11:30pm - I own my own business so I typically work 7 seven days & I'm ungodly tired! But I will let you know when my next posting is...probably within the next day or so. I just joined photopoints as another means of posting my work. I feel that with pbase, my postings seem to get lost among the hundreds of others who seem to post their photos at the same time as me! So, I'm just trying to get some more exposure. And by the way, that yellow flower pic you commented on is one of my favorites & I'm very proud of that gallery as it was lit with flashlights. It was a throwback to my days at NYU film school where I majored in cinematography. The theory was, if you can't light with flashlights you will never understand light well enough to light a film set. So this is a 30+ year throwback to my past.

Thanks again

Sal

Your work is outstandingly beautiful. My commendations are in order. You never fail to inspire me with your artistic photographs and professional approach.

Your comments leave me speechless. My spirit soars whenever I read the generous notes left on my web pages. When the pressures of work and life get the upper hand I find peace in reading the expressive comments left by you and other visitors to my site. A little uplifting goes a long way to change the mood of an unforgiving day.

Wishing you all the best.

Jeanne – Your photos are fantastic (like I have not told you this before). The colors, the content and the magical artistic touch that you have are present in every photograph. I am not only proud to know you as a teacher and a friend, but also as a wonderful photographer! I have E-mailed or AIMed your site to so many people proudly saying, “This is my photography teacher’s web site” or “She will be my Chief of Staff!” Keep up the good work.

Jeanne,

I was lead to your lovely, wonderful images by the one and only Dr. Susan Guiney, Goddess of Technology in Hastings-on-Hudson. She told me that your work was impressive, and I must say, she was absolutely right.

Your mastery of color is simply delightful, and reminds me of how intense everything looked when I was a young child, the sizzling presence of things with unsaturated brilliance and sparkle. The warehouse shots are so perfectly stark and quiet. All of your work is intensely engaging and luscious.

So I understand that you might wish to learn about channel manipulations and some of the more advanced techniques available in Photoshop. Please feel free to call upon me for any assistance I may offer you.

Thank you for sharing your vision/s.

Wow, to say I am impressed is a major understatement. The are absolutely beautiful. I especially love the ones you took down at the warehouse. You've captured the essence of the abandoned site. You are the bomb, my friend!! I'm your fan forever!! Love - Beth Anne.
