I was a high school art teacher for 20 years which balanced perfectly with my enjoyment for oil and watercolor painting. After becoming a high school administrator, I had very little free time or energy for painting and concentrated on photography. Any free time I had was reserved for my family. I did do some commission paintings but nothing on a regular basis. After retiring I had more time and energy and I began doing more non commission paintings until Covid arrived. Time wise, the Covid pandemic was a game changer for me with the isolation and desire to be doing something enjoyable which was painting on a regular basis. I have continued painting since the COVID pandemic and balance my painting time with my photography. Many of my paintings are of local scenes and are displayed and available for sale at Original Frameworks in Blacksburg, Virginia. With the exception of Red Rock Cathedral (2007), all paintings in this gallery have been painted since November 2017.
