Vibrant Colors Of Portree

Portree, Scotland

Portree is the largest town and also the capital of the Isle of Skye. It is a harbor front town known for its local seafood and also known for the vibrant colors of some of the waterfront businesses. Portree is also a photography favorite for visitors on the Isle of Skye. On the afternoon and evening we visited Portree, it was unfortunately cloudy, fairly dark and overcast. After a stroll through the town and some shopping, we had dinner and headed back to our rental house for the evening.

Those waterfront colours still pop beautifully even under that moody sky. It’s the kind of place that stays photogenic no matter the weather. Sounds like a lovely evening after exploring the town. Wonderful shot! V

From this elevated viewpoint, the cheerful pink, yellow and blue façades form a vivid ribbon between the weathered slate rooftops and the muted Highland landscape. Although the afternoon was dark and overcast, the soft light allowed the colours to stand out beautifully against the sombre hills and grey sky. This photograph will certainly serve as a colourful reminder of your quiet evening in one of Skye’s most photogenic destinations.....excellent capture..V
