The otherworldly landscape of the Fairy Glen is a very popular location for visitors. Folklore suggests that fairies inhabit this area but none were observed on our visit. The towering rock formation is a natural rock formation but the concentric circle designs or spirals near this rock tower ( not seen in this image) are not natural but are man made. These spirals seem to enhance the legends of fairies or mystic forces. The local name for this area is Balnaknock which means village in the hills.
