Fairy Glen- Isle Of Skye

Isle Of Skye

The otherworldly landscape of the Fairy Glen is a very popular location for visitors. Folklore suggests that fairies inhabit this area but none were observed on our visit. The towering rock formation is a natural rock formation but the concentric circle designs or spirals near this rock tower ( not seen in this image) are not natural but are man made. These spirals seem to enhance the legends of fairies or mystic forces. The local name for this area is Balnaknock which means village in the hills.

A wonderfully atmospheric capture of the Fairy Glen. The rolling green hills and towering natural rock formation give the landscape an almost dreamlike quality. Even without a glimpse of the legendary fairies, the scene is filled with mystery and imagination. It is easy to see why this enchanting corner of the Isle of Skye has inspired so many stories and drawn so many visitors....Excellent! V
