This is a mid morning view from near the entrance of the Trail Ridge Road Visitor's Center. Although much of this area seems barren, in the summer this area has lush green vegetation with elk grazing being a common sight. With the current administration in Washington and their budget cuts including the firing of so many National Park employees, I fear for the future of parks like Rocky Mountain National Park plus all other National Parks in this country. If we lose these treasures, it will be difficult and maybe impossible to get them back to how they are now. I am glad I had the opportunity to visit this park when I did this past fall.
