Longs Peak is a very popular mountain for hikers and mountain climbers in Rocky Mountain National Park. Hiking in the upper elevations is also considered dangerous based on the terrain and unpredictable weather. Longs Peak's elevation is 14,256 feet and in my opinion this peak is the crown jewel of the park. This was an early morning capture from Trail Ridge Road. This image conveys a warm feeling due to the lighting but I can assure on the morning, it is was not warm. A stop at the Trail Ridge Road visitor's center after taking this image, resulted in a much needed cup of "totally outstanding" hot chocolate.
