Going up stream from the boat launch on the New River at Pembroke, the river runs into a series of shallow rapids. Not having a jet motor on my riverboat ment this was as far as I could go without getting my boat stuck on the rocks. Still, a beautiful river full of smallmouth bass and wildlife along the river banks. The river is also unique in that it flows north into West Virginia and is one of the oldest rivers in the US. This is a 9" x 12" oil painting on stretched canvas. This image is for sale at Original Frameworks in Blacksburg, Virginia.
