Being a popular local historical site, I have painted a number of oil paintings over the past few years related to Smithfield Plantation. This is my latest painting that was painted as a commission on request. Copies of this original 8" x 10" oil painting have been printed to be sold at the Smithfield Museum gift shop. Smithfield Plantation dates back to the 1770's but the history of it's location dates back to the native Americans who first settled this area.
