Approaching Rodanthe On A Summer Morning

Hatteras Island, North Carolina

Rodanthe is a small town on Hatteras Island which is part of North Carolina's Outer Banks. This is the entrance to the the town as you are driving south towards the town of Hatteras. Rodanthe was also the location for the house used in the 2008 movie " Nights In Rodanthe" with Diane Lane and Richard Gere. The house in the movie was moved after the movie was made due to deteriorating beach conditions but the house located at one time in this turn of the road on the ocean side. I have driven this road many times and have so many wonderful memories of this location. This painting is an oil on stretched canvas and is for sale at Original Frameworks in Blacksburg, Virginia. Very nice oil on canvas nice entrance to the scene and allowing the eye to travel by the homes.
Nice use of road color depicting distance.
Photographed and framed nicely for digital presentation.
