Lake Powell Remembered

Page, Arizona

With the water levels of the Colorado River and Lake Powell in serious jeopardy, I went back looking for images of Lake Powell from our tour of the lake in 2015. As shown in this image, the lake was well below full pond at that time.

Wonderful subtle tones in those wind-sculpted rock formations and fascinating to observe a band of white sandstone above the dropping water level...outstanding capture with that rewarding azure sky to top it off....V

The lakes created by those dams are stunning and you captured it beautifully. The low water levels are scary and maybe the desert wasn’t meant to be inhabited. V

a stronfg visual statement...even back then the water level seemed down a bit, judging by the layer of bleached rock..

Beautiful capture, Dave. The southwest and northwest is in a terrible drought. We have half the moisture as normal in our area.

Great capture of this beautiful scene. It's shocking and quite worrisome to hear of the current situation. V.
