An Afternoon View From Max Patch

Max Patch is a bald mountain on the border of Tennessee and North Carolina. This grass covered bald provides a 360 degree view of the Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains. The bald is a major landmark along the Appalachian Trail with an elevation of 4,616 feet.

Exposure is a bulls eye high lights in perfect check and impressive landscape with late day light .
The clouds are amazing as is the resolution in the fantastic monochrome.

Love the depth in this scene and the wonderful sky. Tones are also top notch. A fun comparison is the vapor trail in the sky and the wildlife trail in the grass.
