This is a series of 14 images shot at 8 fps with a Nikon D2H, Nikkor 18-70DX on a Feisol Monopod.

In image 33712 (#7) we see the gold rider's lance shattered and appearing to stick out of the silver rider's neck. The silver rider scored a hit and we also see the tip of that lance just to the left of the riders. In the next 5 frames the shattered lance tumbles to the ground.

As you can see from the EXIF data, this sequence was conpleted in just 1.8 seconds!
