This series of tests compared the RRS replacement foot with the Nikon Stock foot using two different plates, the more expensive and very nice Wimberly P30 plate, and the very inexpensive Feisol plate.
I think you will conclude from the images that the RRS replacement foot does not solve any of the stability issues with this lens.
The Feisol plate performs as well as the Wimberly in these tests. The Feisol plate has a rubber mat surface. The lock down screw is more or less held in place by the rubber- it is not captive as with the better plates. The Feisol plate IS NOT compatibly with my RRS Lever clamp, sliding out without any friction at all.
