Here was another creative test in an attempt to isolate the target in the AF sensor and avoid "sensor bleed". After the AF was adjusted, this image shows correct focus although it may be difficult to see in this full frame image. See next image for 100% crop.
The purpose here was to test the 6-10 foot focus distance. I had learned that, at least in my case, the relative offset of actual focus to targeted focus increased with distance.
This image was shot after the camera AF was successfully re-calibrated.
