This was actually our first motorcycle trip to Alaska (2008) with Homer and the Artic Circle being our final destinations. I think my happiest moment was actually reaching the Alaskan border. We left Southern California with 109,000 miles on the Harley, so, it was no great surprise when the motor died in Soldatna. We flew home. In September, we finished the return trip after the motor was rebuilt. So the bike spent 3 months longer in Alaska than we did. Lucky dog.
