The Call of the Wild

Ospreys are one of my favorite wildlife subjects, and I am always looking for different ways to photograph and present these amazing birds. On this occasion one flew directly overhead while calling. I decided to use a monochrome presentation to focus the viewer on the open beak without the distraction of color.

Your tight framing and use of monochrome combine to create an outstanding capture. The hunter at work with a wonderful sense of alertness. Very nicely done!! VV++

Perfect timing to catch this great shot. The osprey is a bit scary looking with that open beak.

Wonderful patterns in those feathers. To open beak is a bonus.

I like the B&W also because it makes the viewer focus on their feather patterns and textures too. ~BV~
