The Takeoff

This shot captures the split second when this hummingbird took off from its perch. I'd like to say that I have lightning fast reflexes and was quick on the trigger in capturing this scene. But I don't, and I wasn't. What I was doing was photographing the bird while on its perch and it suddenly sprang into action. Fortunately I was shooting, as I always do, in bursts of 20 fps and luckily captured the takeoff. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good I guess.
