Here is another addition to my series on the art of surfing. The goal is to capture the decisive moment in a ride when the surfer transforms the energy of the wave into spray and the combination of surfer, ocean and spray form the elements of an amazing artistic expression that transcends the sport. The series is presented entirely in high contrast black and white to remove the distraction of color and allow all the various elements to blend together more completely. The rider's name is Koby.
