The San Elijo Lagoon is located on the Pacific Flyway, a major route for migratory birds along the Pacific Coast. As a result we get to see some interesting visitors to the place this time of year. These are Buffleheads, a small diving duck that is entertaining to watch as they swim, dive and fish.
