A Slice of History

My wife and I got the chance to spend last weekend at the Hotel Del Coronado, a victorian beach resort on Coronado Island. This is a shot I took in the gorgeous lobby. The Del opened in 1888 and this lobby has hosted royalty and presidents. It was neat looking down and imagining the scene below being repeated daily for well over 100 years; I mean if you don't count folks checking their cell phones.

Nice that you two got to spend some time there. Great view from above. Love the chandelier and old wood panels. But no one else notices that beauty, as they are busy looking at the phone. V

Looks very elegant, except for the cell-phone checkers. I've heard of this hotel; you were fortunate to have stayed there.
