The extreme low tides that occur in fall and winter here in Southern California expose tide pools at Seaside, Cardiff State Beach that are submerged for most of the year. This protected marine environment attracts scores of visitors that explore this natural, outdoor aquarium where sea life is trapped between tidal swings. This shot is part of a series I’m doing entitled “Exploring the Tide Pools” that documents people interacting with Nature along this stretch of the Southern California coast.
