I enjoy creating abstracts from natural scenes. This is a close-up of a portion of the trunk of a eucalyptus tree growing in the San Diego Botanic Garden. I rotated the original image 90 degrees such that the concentric circles feature appears at the top, resembling the blazing sun over a river valley (formed by splits in the bark). The tonal qualities were enhanced for effect and to personal taste.
