Wildlife and Moon Shots -- 2016 and Beyond

Except for the photos of the supermoon taken on Dec. 3, 2017, the images in this gallery are "accidental" wildlife photos. They are accidental in that I didn't go out of my way to shoot subjects in the wild; instead, these creatures practically came to me.

I took the various elk shots from the side of a road and a parking lot during a visit to the Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. The elk were totally unexpected. I took the deer, bird and moon shots from the comfort of my house.

I often see lovely and colorful birds drop by the trees bordering my backyard. Deer occasionally graze on the vacant land behind my house. And foxes visit there, as well. Having recently acquired a Nikon Coolpix P900 with an 83x zoom lens (4.3-357mm), I am now ready for them. I bought this amazing camera with a 135 equivalent 24-2000mm zoom precisely to take advantage of these wildlife opportunities.

I am launching this gallery with a few images. I hope to add more wildlife pictures from time to time.
