Porsche Driving Experience at Summit Point, WV -- May 2, 2018

Porsche Cars North America transports fleets of new cars and platoons of driving instructors around the country to give many Porsche enthusiasts an opportunity to get acquainted with some of its latest products. PCNA usually channels these efforts through its authorized dealers.

In early May 2018, a number of Maryland dealers took turns hosting these invitation-only events at Summit Point Motorsports Park in West Virginia. Several of my friends and I were fortunate enough to get an invitation from Porsche of Silver Spring to attend a half-day of driving fun at Summit Point's Shenandoah Circuit.

As my photos show, there were several brand-new, delivery-mileage 911s, Panameras, Macans and a 718 Cayman GTS on hand. The PCNA staff systematically made sure that all of us got to drive practically all the cars, some more than once. The whole exercise achieved its main purpose -- virtually all of us came out of it wanting to buy a new Porsche. Among the cars here, the ones I liked and enjoyed the most were the 911 Carrera T and the 718 Cayman GTS.
