Petersen Automotive Museum, L.A. -- August 2008 ... Nikon D300

I visited the Petersen Automotive Museum in L.A. on Aug. 19, 2008, and had a great time taking pictures with a handheld Nikon D300 and a Nikkor 18-200mm VR zoom lens. All the images in this gallery, except for two (with "PP" in their captions), are as is, straight from the camera, with no post-processing applied. I resized them for online viewing.

The museum is named in honor of Robert E. Petersen (1926-2007), the founding and longtime publisher of enthusiast magazines such as Motor Trend and Hot Rod. He and his wife, Margie, donated $30 million to establish and maintain the museum, which displays a rotating selection of cars from their vast collection, as well as automobiles from the museum's and other collections. For more information about this impressive institution, visit http://www.petersen.org .
