49th Chesapeake Challenge Gimmick Rally -- PCA-CHS 2018 Tour & Rally Event No. 13, Nov. 10

The Chesapeake Region of the Porsche Club of America held its 49th Chesapeake Challenge at the Maryland Yacht Club in Pasadena and the surrounding area. This multi-event celebration had to be rescheduled for Nov. 10 because of a dire forecast of seriously bad weather for its original date, Sept. 15.

On the new date, the weather was chilly but sunny. So the Chesapeake Challenge proceeded as planned, starting with a two-category and multi-class Concours d'Elegance in the morning (Street Prep and Full Concours), followed by lunch, a Gimmick Rally and a Tech Quiz. While the organizers were busy scoring the three events and the entire Challenge, cocktails and appetizers were served. Then the Awards Banquet came next, followed soon after by the Awards Ceremony.

This gallery features several of the photos I took during the gimmick rally, as well as three taken during the Awards Ceremony. All my Awards Ceremony photos are featured in a separate gallery.

Busy in my role as rally master and rally organizer, I managed to take only a few pictures, and only at the rally's starting gate and during the awards ceremony. A total of 49 people in 24 cars took part in the rally.
