The Chesapeake Region of the Porsche Club of America held a time-speed-distance rally school and TSD rally on May 18, 2019, for the first time since the 1980s. It was planned and organized by the Tour & Rally Committee -- made up of my fellow co-chair Randy M and myself -- with the crucial participation of guest instructor, guest rally master and PCA Chesapeake historian Bob R.

The entire undertaking would not have been possible without the invaluable assistance of several PCA members, who served as checkpoint crew members and rally marshals, as well as the much appreciated sponsorship of the Collectors Car Corral and CPR Classic East, a vintage Porsche restoration shop in Easton, MD.

Seven teams, each made up of a driver and co-driver, attended the workshop and competed in the TSD rally. Many of them had taken part in gimmick rallies before, but this was the first TSD rally for all of them. First place went to Rich & Kris T, while second place went to Bob Z and son Chris.

One couple -- Frank & Susan T -- did not get on the podium in our May event but placed 7th in class two months later in the huge TSD rally at PCA's 2019 national meet -- the Porsche Parade -- in Florida. They credited their respectable finish there to their participation in PCA Chesapeake's TSD Rally School and TSD Rally.
