The Porsche Club of America's Chesapeake Region held the bulk of its 50th annual Chesapeake Challenge on Oct. 5, 2019. The day started at Skip Conrey's 90-acre Valhalla Estate in Marriottsville, Maryland, where a multi-class and judged concours was held. A 45-mile gimmick rally was also launched from there, after lunch. The finish line was at the nearby Turf Valley Resort, where a tech quiz, cocktail party and awards banquet followed.

This year's Chesapeake Challenge gimmick rally was the fourth my fellow Tour & Rally Co-Chair Randy M. and I had the pleasure of designing and running since 2016. A total of 60 PCA members in 29 Porsches and one Audi competed, with each car naturally having a driver and a navigator. This gallery features some of the 30 cars that were entered in what we called the "Mission Impossible Rally."
