Autocross School of PCA's Chesapeake Region -- April 8, 2017

More than 40 Porsche Club of America members and guests attended the Chesapeake Region's Autocross School on April 8, 2017. The classroom sessions were held in the showroom of Porsche of Annapolis, which sponsored the event. The autocross exercises were conducted on one of the parking lots of the Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI).

I am pleased to share here the photos I took during this annual event. I originally planned to take part in the autocross runs rather than take photos, so I brought along my compact P7100 rather than my more appropriate (for action shots) D300. But I think the P7100 acquitted itself well.

Back in the late '60s they set up an autocross course nearly every weekend in my hometown of Napa, CA. I had a '63 MG Midget that I entered and tried my best in (not very successfully). It was fun and the vehicles were a who's-who of the time. Also campaigning were British sports cars of the time as well as American muscle cars (one guy with a Mustang Boss 302 pretty much burned rubber all the way around the course). A good time was had by all. Thanks for reminding me with this great gallery. V
