Epic Colorado Tour -- September 2023

In early September 2023, my wife and I visited Colorado for nine days with five other couples -- close friends and fellow Porsche Club members, all with Maryland roots, though we now have homes in various states. We spent seven days driving around the Centennial State for fun, covering about 1,500 miles in the process.

We started from Boulder, about 30 miles north of Denver. Using a special tour route I had prepared, we proceeded to Nederland, Vail, Aspen, Ouray, Silverton, Durango, Telluride, Gateway, Grand Junction, back to Aspen, Independence Pass, the Rocky Mountain National Park, Estes Park, Colorado Springs and Pikes Peak. Among the many awesome roads we drove on were the fantastic Million Dollar Highway, the spectacular stretch of I-70 between Vail and Glenwood Springs, and the magnificent Unaweep Tabeguache Scenic Byway. A visit to the Centennial State would not be complete without a get-together with Dan and Monique Greenberg. We had the pleasure of their company during our final "Epic Colorado Tour" dinner in Colorado Springs, the night before the half of us who were still around headed home.

I am pleased to share in this gallery a few of the many photos I took during our glorious driving adventure. As usual in these road trips, my primary focus was on driving for fun, with photography taking a back seat. That's often the case when other people are traveling with me.
