The Auto Collections in Las Vegas -- October 2009

The Auto Collections exhibit in Las Vegas was the biggest and most welcome surprise that I came across during my visit to that city in late October 2009. What I found astonishing was not the showroom's existence but rather the extremely high quality of many of the cars on display, many of which were for sale. Not expecting to take any serious photographs during my trip to Vegas, I didn't bring my Nikon D300. Instead, I brought two compact cameras -- my Nikon Coolpix P5000 and S560. All the photos in this gallery were taken with the P5000, handheld. Most are as is, straight from the camera, with no post-processing. Those that I enhanced are marked WB, BR, CO, ST, DC and CR in their captions, referring to the white balance, brightness, contrast, straightening, distortion control and cropping adjustments made.
