St. Michaels Concours d'Elegance, The Show Field: Part 1 of 2 -- September 2013

This is my first of two galleries on the seventh annual St. Michaels Concours d'Elegance held on Sept. 29, 2013, at a new and wonderful venue, the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina in Cambridge, Maryland. Entered were cars from the Golden Age of Motoring (1900-1942) and the postwar period (1948-1963), including wood bodied cars through 1953. There were 10 classes: Exhibition, Jaguar, Wood (Woodie), Sports Car Open, Sports Car Closed, Brass, Preservation, Packard, Prewar European and Prewar American. The Lincoln, the Rolls-Royce chassis and the cars from Ethel & John North II were entered in the noncompetitive Exhibition class.

Funds raised by the event were for the benefit of the Mid-Shore Community Foundation, which supports nonprofit organizations in the counties of Kent, Queen Anne, Caroline, Talbot and Dorchester. For more information, visit the concours's Web site at http://www.smcde.org/ .

For the second year in a row, Colorado photographer, PBase artist and good friend Dan Greenberg joined me at the concours. He came to Maryland primarily for the 2nd Rodder's Journal Vintage Speed & Custom Car Revival, which was held in Baltimore Sept. 27-29.
