Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion -- Group 2A Race, August 2010

The 2010 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion was held Aug. 12 through 15 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. I watched eight of the 10 races that ran on Aug. 14 but had to miss the ones held the next day because I attended the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

This gallery is the eighth of 10 in my 2010 series on the Motorsports Reunion, formerly called the Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races. Featured here is the Group 2A Race for "1973-1982 IMSA GT, GTX, AA GT Cars." A total of 32 entries were registered, but only 25 started. Unfortunately, I was unable to photograph the car that finished last, a 1975 Dekon Monza No. 2 driven by Chad Raynal of San Jose, CA.

I shot the photos in this gallery with a handheld Nikon D300 and a Nikkor 18-200mm VR zoom. All are straight-from-the-camera images, with no post-processing done to them, except for cropping, as well as for brightness adjustments done on six marked BR in their captions. I slightly darkened those six to bring out highlight details in the white cars. All the photos have been resized for online viewing.
