Meadow Brook Concours d'Elegance 1 -- Best of Show, August 2009

Two cars from California were awarded the "Best of Show" honors at the 2009 Meadow Brook Concours d'Elegance in Rochester, Michigan. A 1934 Delahaye 165 Cabriolet belonging to the Peter Mullin Foundation won in the foreign automobile category, while a 1934 Packard V12 Sport Phaeton owned by Ray Scherr prevailed among the American automobiles in the field.

This set is the first in my series of 11 galleries on the 30th Meadow Brook Concours, which was held on Aug. 2. More than 200 cars and motorcycles were entered in 25 classes by collectors from all over the United States and Canada. Among the classes were several that were noncompetitive. For more information, visit the concours's Web site at http://www.meadowbrookconcours.org .

I shot all the photos with my handheld Nikon D300 and Nikkor 18-200mm VR zoom. I resized the pictures for online viewing. Note that the images and other content here are protected by copyright laws. All rights are reserved. Unauthorized use, copying, printing or direct linking is prohibited.
