Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance -- August 2008 ... Nikon D300

The 58th annual Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance was held on Aug. 17, 2008, on the 18th fairway of the Pebble Beach Golf Links, as well as behind the Lodge. A total of 226 vintage cars were entered in 26 classes. This gallery features many of the year's outstanding automobiles. I used a Nikon D300 and an 18-200mm Nikkor VR zoom lens to take my concours photos. Most of the images presented here are as is, straight from the camera, with no post-processing applied -- the exceptions being those that I straightened a bit (st), cropped (cr) or whose brightness and contrast (bc) I tweaked. However, I did resize all the photos for online viewing.

After the first photo, the rest of the images are arranged chronologically according to the cars' model years, starting with the oldest -- except for, at the tail end, the pictures of the "Best of Show" finalists and winner. ... The entrants had to drive their cars up a hill for the awarding ceremony. The incline made composition a bit tough; as a result, some of my images ended up needing a little straightening.
