I copied the second image and pasted it ontop of the first image. My thinking here is I want the darker image as the primary image(on top) but I will selectively erase it to get the detail I want in the shadows of the bottom layer. I set the opacity of the top layer to 50% in order to see the bottom layer at the same time so I could line up the two (hand held) shots.
