2nd November, children of the stones

'Children of the Stones' was a TV programme when I was a lad. I remember us all rushing home to watch it.
It was about strange goings on in a village, up at the ancient stone circle.
Our Stone Circle seems a very happy place. We were up playing hide and seek there today. Another beautiful crisp sunny day.
These stones have seen it all, they have been standing for 5000 years, their origins are a mystery, they were there before the Great Pyramids, they were there during the rise and fall of the Roman Empire, the eruption of Vesuvius, and much more.
It is great to walk up there, to run around and play. You always come back in an uplifted mood.

Very cool, Northy. I love the lighting on this. In video and film this is called the "golden time," for obvious reasons. I love taking pictures of any kind in this light. And I love your circle pictures. There's nothing like that where I live. When we were growing up, they called us the "children of the dirt clods..."

What a great place. You must get a feeling of how it may have been while there. Like the colours & the crop Andy. Voting !!

Nice shot - was he pondering what these stones had witnessed over the centuries?
If that's the North Sea in the distance, I suppose this must be a sunset shot.

Don't know if it is sunrise or sunset but, you caught the good light.
