3rd September, through the train window

I felt like somebody appearing in court yesterday
And as I stepped off the plane at Heathrow Airport,
I had the feeling of what it must be for somebody who has been released from prison,
after spending years away in a slow paced world.
The vast crowds of people,
all moving much faster than I remembered,
the gleaming, shiny terminal,
the smooth, eerily quiet and very fast connecting train to Paddington.
All very modern and futuristic!
I was glad to get out into the countryside heading west though.
Not much time for sightseeing,
but I managed to get this picture of an iron age 'white horse' for which this area of south west England is known.
I missed it yesterday on the way out, but caught it on the way back...

I saw that for the first time last Fall. Quite a striking sight.

Aha, that looks like the Bratton horse -
http://wiltshirewhitehorses.org.uk/westbury.html for some info if anyone is interested.
Very good shot considering it came from the window of a moving train!

Been pretty much out of the loop with a flu bug over the weekend. A long lasting headache made screen watching difficult. I'm just catching up with your pics Northy. Love this horse.

I'm not sure, Westbury was the nearest station.

I used to live in the south east, and there were a few of these too - Is this the one at Uffington?
