Gujurat India Highlights

Portraits of herdsmen, tribal people, nomads, Muslims show the variety of life in this corner of northwest India. The amazing Jain temples atop Palitana enchant the eye. The area is reknown for embroideries, tie dye, ikat work and other handiwork. Ahmadabad features old mosques. There are spectacular royal stepwells which were baths. The ancient city of Bhuj was mostly destroyed in an earthquake in 2002, but some sites and flavors of this remarkable place remain.
