A contestant from the Warren County, NJ Fireback Fiddle and Banjo contest

This was taken a few years ago. The contest is no longer run because it lost it's funding from the county.

It must have been a fun event! No businesses stepped up to keep it going?

What a wonderful moment! Your portrait looks outstanding and what a fine subject.
It is a shame but great that you have this work.
Old time string music is such a treasure as are the old time practitioners.

Love this folksy shot. My goal is to get a clawhammer banjo and learn to play it. I love old time banjo and fiddle music. It seems such a shame that the funding has gone. V

I agree with what was said about the photo, and although I'm not a lover necessarily of the music, I do think that a local get together is preferable to radios run by corporate interests

like here down home look...too bad about the funding as roots music is to be supported..

You have captured her intensity well. What a pity the contest lost its funding; it seems like this kind of tradition should be promoted and kept alive. V.
