The Rock

I grew up across the street from a large wooded area that we kids used to hike in and explore. One of the most famous landmarks in these woods (for town folks, anyway) was a spot affectionately known as "the rock". It was actually a series of very large rocks that overlooked our train station and town. You can see quite far from this vantage point and it was also a favorite spot for watching fireworks on the 4th of July, as long as you didn't mind trekking through the woods in total darkness aided by only a flashlight afterwards. I took this photo a few years ago and recently processed in Nik Color Efex Pro 4 and Topaz Texture Effects 2.

Beautiful work! So well done withe the sunlight reflection off the leaves and the foreground rock, while still maintaining detail in the town in the background. A precious image. V.
