Yesterday my husband and I visited one of our local state parks and as we were leaving the parking lot another couple told us that there were 3 or 4 vultures living above one of the two water towers behind the visitor's center. We made our way there and found this black vulture sitting at the opening of the compartment above one of the towers.
These vultures are not as common as turkey vultures in our area, so it was a real treat to find this one.
