Thousands of snow geese take to the sky.

Every year Merrill Creek is visited by thousands of snow geese during their migration in late January to early February. I've always wanted to witness this and this year I did. The closest vantage point was not very close at all and even with my 200-500 lens, there was no hope of getting any close up shots.

Super image Nora. Terrific sight to see them all take off. Like a curtain being raised.

An amazing sight. I think this focal length is good as it gives you an idea of the scope of this. "V"

Those Canada geese in the foreground probably don't like those thousands of visitors. A neat and exciting shot, Nora! V.

I think the long distance capture might have been better in any case, giving a feeling for the massive numbers of geese in flight. Excellent capture, Nora. V.
