On Saturday evening my husband and I made a trip out to an arboretum in our area that we like to frequent to do some shooting. We didn't get much camera work in, but we did meet a very nice woman who had immigrated to the U.S. from Poland and had a very nice conversation with her. About 15 minutes later, I noticed that I had left my tripod leaning against a bench that was now occupied by a couple and their child, who was maybe about 9 or 10. I went over to them to apologize and wound up sitting next to them on the bench while we conversed for over an hour! They had immigrated from a part of the Ukraine that used to be part of Hungary. The husband showed me pictures from his phone of the area they came from and I learned a lot about that part of Europe from the two of them. It was also interesting to get their perspective on life here in the U.S. as it compares to Europe. What a wonderful way to spend an evening! I did manage to get a few photos in, and this is one of them.
