This is an annual gathering of American Ex-POW's, mostly from the WWII era. Friends are made and memories shared. My father belongs to this group because he spent 8 1/2 months as a prisoner of the Germans during WWII. Although my father never talked much about his war experiences when we were growing up, the memories have now come back to haunt him in his later years. He has found that it is better to confront those memories head on rather than turning his back on them. Events like this bring some comfort.
