I think it is the hashtnagri chowk near women hospital.Now-a-days,they distt.Govt has erected a gate here in the fashion of old Peshawar gates.I'm also from Peshawar and all your notes are nostalgic for me.

Taj bro you are right, but that sound can be heard from far away. And I was talking about the overall early morning atmosphere in peshawar, and not about any specific halwai shop in this location.

Do you know the name of this mosque? I always just called it 'Hashtnagri Mosque'. This mosque, and Jama Masjid in Delhi are 2 of the first mosques I ever prayed in.
There used to be a very happy blind man who sat in front of the Hashtnagri tanna and would always pray in the mosque.

Looks like this is early in the morning? I can hear the sound (Taakh Taakh)of Halwa Poori prepared in the nearby halwai shop.

When you come up from G T Road, inside Hashtnagri, the first through chowk, Sikunderpura. The Hashtnagri Police Tanna is across the street (left of photo). In the 90's the mosque's upstairs courtyard became enclosed.
