- in July 2007, MARIAH 30C was very badly damaged when "t-boned" by a C&C 41 that was at fault AND doing about 8 knots in 18 knots of wind !
- boat was 'written off' and then sold by the insurance company

Dave wrote in March 2007 :

MARIAH's home port is Essex MA, north of Boston on Massachusetts Bay. Danielle and I have owned her for 10 years. When I had her surveyed prior to purchase in 1997 the surveyor said she was the dirtiest boat he had ever seen! We bought her anyway (with no regrets) and have had great fun cleaning and upgrading her (nothing structural). I am enclosing her current description (all new electronics due to a lightning strike on 7/28/06).

MARIAH features a forward cabin with 6' 6" settee berths with 5" cushions and removable back rests. There is a large and full length storage shelf outboard of each settee and additional storage under the settees and behind the back rests. There is a teak drop-leaf table with deep storage wells in the center section. Forward of each settee are large hanging lockers and in the center are book shelves and 3 drawers below. Aft of the port settee is a unique slide-up bulkhead and a folding door which creates two cabins below when such privacy is desired.

The galley is just aft of the port settee with a Hillerange 2-burner stove & oven, Adler-Barbour 12 volt refrigeration, drawers and lockers and a deep stainless steel sink with hot and cold pressure water. Complete set of cooking utensils, pots & pans and place settings for four.

The large head is just aft of the starboard settee with a sink, shower, hanging locker, two storage lockers and three drawers. A Wilcox-Crittenden Neptune electric flush head (new '05) and a Paloma on demand propane hot water heater.

On the port side behind the galley is a 6' 6" single quarter berth with shelves on both sides and a large deep storage bin outboard. A slide out chart table/work surface is mounted over the berth. On the starboard side behind the head is a 6' 3" double quarter berth with shelves on both sides.
